Fallen - Lauren Kate

‘Fallen’ is a romantic novel about fallen angels which was written by Lauren Kate, born the 21st of August in 1981 in USA, Dallas, Texas. She published this story in the year 2009 and it is a saga which contains five books, plus an annex.
This is the first book of this saga, which talks about Lucinda Price’s life (Luce) who is sent to the school ‘Sword & Cross’ in Savannah, Georgia, after being accused of killing his boyfriend in a fire. There, he meets Daniel Grigori, a guy who attracts her and she finds him extremely familiar. They start to meet and later on, Luce finds out that Daniel was a very important angel who fall and now has a curse; falling in love with the same girl every 17 years and watching her die when she turns 17. Luce finds out that she is a mortal girl who tends to reincarnate over and over again but anyways, she always crosses with Daniel in every life, no matter what. However, they both have to fight against supernatural challenges and other people who want to get into their relationships. Finally, everything changes and it is super weird to find out that at the end, nothing is able to kill Luce, making both of them, specially Daniel, worry about this change as it is new for him and it will probably mean that Luce will no longer reincarnate.

I really liked this book because it is the type of book which has supernatural successes, action and also romanticism. I strongly recommend this book as it will hook you since the start as you will be able to find out more things about Luce, Daniel and the past. It also leaves the novel in suspense, making the reader want to read more and know what happened to the course.

Black Ice - Becca Fitzpatrick

Black Ice is the most recent novel published by the New Yorker Becca Fitzpatrick, as she published it in year 2014.
The book starts with a shortcut of this girl, Lauren, who is drunk and gets into a car with a cowboy as she wants to call attention from his father and brother. However, it does not end as well as she thought it would go as then she is kidnapped and the man kills her.
Then, the author presents us the actual protagonist who is Britt, and who will go on a trip with her best friend to the same place where Lauren was found as she will go on an excursion to the mountains. However, the snow is so powerful that they have to stop and later on, they walk until they find a house with two men, Mason (the good guy) and Shaun (the evil one). They stay there for a while until Shaun decides to kidnap them and have them as a hostage. However, Britt decides to ‘save’ her friend so she keeps herself as a hostage for both men while the friend stays at the house and tries to escape. Later on, Britt and Mason (who already knew themselves before all of this happened) make kind of an alliance and they try (on the sly) try to escape and take Shaun to the police so that he is arrested.

I really liked this book as we will discover complicated secrets which both of them keep and we will be able to know reasons why Mason works for Shaun. Also, we are able to see Britt’s flashbacks and how she feels throughout the story and even that when everything end, they are able to continue having kind of creating a relationship as they have dates (but these are only commented at the end of the book).

Walking Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Walking Disaster is a novel written by Jamie McGuire, who was born the 6th of November in 1978, in USA, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This novel is basically the same as ‘Beautiful Disaster’, but we are able to see it from Travis Maddox’s point of view. The novel starts by the part where Travis’ mother dies and she tells him to love hard and fight harder. We see that Travis’ life is full of women, violence and illegal games. However, this starts to change when he meets Abby Abernathy and all of his standards and expectative change.

I really liked this book as it is basically the same book as ‘Beautiful Disaster’ but from Travis’ point of view, which is totally different from Abby’s point of view. It dragged my attention as the reader is able to discover new things and reasons why Travis did some things than probably in ‘Beautiful Disaster’ we were not able to understand completely.
