Beautiful Disaster - Jamie McGuire

Beautiful Disaster is a romantic novel written by Jamie McGuire, who was born the 6^th of November in 1978, in USA, Tulsa, Oklahoma. This novel was published in the year 2012 and it was part of ‘The Best Sellers’ in ‘The New York Times’ that same year.

This book relates Abby Abernathy’s life, an eighteen-year-old girl who moved to a new city and tries to escape from her past, she travels with her best friend, America. There, she meets Travis Maddox in a club where he fights and is well know as “Mad Dog” as he always wins the fights. He has a ‘bad boy’ fame along with being a player; this is why Abby tries to avoid him. However, when Travis meets Abby, he realizes she is not as the other girls and really wants to be with her, but Abby only gives him the chance of being her friend, an option he does not reject. As the story continues, we are able to find out more about why Travis is a player or a ‘bad boy’ or why Abby has moved to this city, but also, we are able to see that love starts to develop between them. Yet not everything is love, because they have many fights as they are too different but at the same too similar; they even get to break up when Travis wants to move to Las Vegas to fight for a person who has hurt Abby, but he does not see it this way, he sees it by the fact that he will be able to pay everything and even thinks much more in how will this benefit this for Abby than his own benefits. Travis does everything he is capable of so that Abby forgives him, and at the end, they are back together. They even ‘get married’.

This is a book which I really liked by the fact that Abby and Travis are completely different but at the same time too similar, this is why this book is so interesting. Even though this book is too long, it reveals new secrets or new challenges which totally hook the reader into the story and wants them to read much more.
